Beach Instructions & Swimming Tips

Beach Instructions

  • For your safety, never swim after sunset or in rough sea
  • No swimming when Red flag is raised
  • Never swim close to the rocks
  • No roller skaters, motorcycles or bicycles allowed on jogging track
  • Do not sit or block the jogging track, and do not use the jogging track for other purpose than what it’s intended for
  • No barbecue or lightning fires or smoking
  • No camping or overnight sleeping
  • No dogs or other pets allowed
  • No surfing / kite surfing outside the designated areas
  • Please swim in the designated areas and within the swimming demarcated zone
  • Please adhere to general good manners and avoid causing any disturbance
  • Please keep the beach clean
  • Do not litter or throw waste or spit (Chewing gum, etc.) on the jogging track
  • Please do not leave your belongings unattended
  • No fishing without permit
  • Swimming costumes are not allowed outside the beach area

Swimming Tips

  • Do not swim during rough sea, and when red flags are up
  • Do not swim after sun set
  • Beginners and children never swim alone
  • Be cautions at all time, and check local weather conditions
  • Do not swim close to breakwater
  • Do not swim so far from the shore and make sure you always have enough energy to swim back to it
  • Stay hydrated to reduce the risk of sunstroke and dehydration
  • Do not swim under effect of drugs

Rip Currents

Rip Currents are powerful currents of water moving away from shore. They can sweep even the strongest swimmer out to the sea. Rip currents mostly typically form at low spots or breaks along the shore where sandbars are present, and also near structures such as groins, breakwaters, jetties and piers.

Tips to escape the rip currents

  • Do not Fight the currents
  • Swim parallel to the shoreline
  • If you cannot escape, float or tread water
  • If you need help, call or wave for assistance
